Despite the rise of modern life, Sanggar Nirmalasari remains a beacon for wayang kulit performances in the city. Located at Jl. Ismaya Gg. Wayang No. 23, Cinere, this studio continues to thrive.

History of Sanggar Nirmala Sari

Sanggar Nirmala sari was founded by Ki Asman Budi Prayitno, a dedicated artist. The idea to establish the studio arose when Ki Asman observed his grandchild's interest in playing wayang kulit. Additionally, his participation in a DKI-level festival sparked interest among many children who wanted to learn at the studio.

Activities of the Studio

The activities at the studio include:

1. Gamelan Practice : Learning to play traditional instruments. 
2. Vocal Training : Connecting voice with gamelan melodies.
3. Role Learning :  Students learn to be dalang (puppet masters) of wayang kulit purwa, focusing on styles from Solo and Yogyakarta.

Learning Categories

For children aged 5 to 8, the studio teaches them how to handle wayang kulit puppets and perform with them.
